A luxury home is not defined by expensive materials alone. It is defined by how well the home is planned around the people who live in it, how carefully every material is chosen and detailed, and how faithfully the design is carried through to the finished rooms. ModScale designs, produces and installs luxury home interiors for apartments and villas across Bengaluru, from our studio in HSR Layout, with one team responsible from the first floor plan to handover.

Our approach to luxury interiors
We start from your floor plan and your brief, never from a template. Luxury, for us, is the sum of many small decisions made well: the route from the front door to the kitchen, where daylight falls in the evening, where things are actually kept, and how each surface feels to the hand. The result should look personal and calm rather than decorated.
What makes a home interior feel luxurious
- Proportion and restraint. Fewer, better elements, aligned to each other. Panels, shutters and ceiling lines that line up read as considered; clutter reads as cheap, whatever it cost.
- Material honesty. Natural textures such as stone, veneer and fabric, used where they can be seen and touched, and specified to a grade that will last.
- Layered lighting. Ambient, task and accent light working together, in one consistent colour temperature.
- Bespoke detailing. Custom-sized furniture, concealed storage, integrated handles and finishes that continue cleanly around corners.
- Execution. The difference between a luxurious render and a luxurious home is in the joinery, the alignment and the finishing on site.
Space planning comes first
Before any finish is chosen, we plan circulation, storage and the way each room is used. In a large apartment or villa, this means deciding which spaces are for entertaining and which are private, where guests enter and where daily life happens, and how much storage each bedroom genuinely needs. Good planning is invisible, and it is what makes a home feel effortless to live in.
Custom furniture and bespoke details
Luxury interiors rely on pieces made for the room rather than bought to fit it: wardrobes sized to the wall, a TV wall that conceals cabling and storage, a foyer console and mirror set to the entrance, a dining unit designed with the crockery it holds. Bespoke details, such as fluted panels, grooved marble-finish panels, wainscoting and lit display niches, give a home its character when they are used with restraint.

Premium materials and hardware
We believe you should know exactly what goes into your home: board grade, hardware brand, finish type and thickness, written down rather than implied. In a luxury home, the visible finishes, such as veneers, PU and acrylic shutters, stone and fabric, matter, but so do the parts you never see. The carcass board, the hinges and drawer channels, and the edge banding decide whether a wardrobe still closes perfectly in ten years. Our guides to plywood grades and modular vs carpenter-made interiors explain the choices, and you can see and compare materials at our studio or in our material library.
Lighting design
Lighting is where many expensive homes fall short. We plan three layers: ambient light from the ceiling, task light where you cook, read and dress, and accent light that picks out texture, art and display. Warm colour temperatures and lamps with good colour rendering make wood, stone and fabric look as they should. Read more in our lighting design guide.

Flooring and wall finishes
Large-format tiles, stone and engineered wood set the base of the home; wall finishes such as panelling, fluting, textured paint and stone-finish cladding add depth. We use feature finishes on one or two walls per space rather than everywhere, so each one has room to be noticed.
Room by room
Kitchen
A luxury kitchen still has to handle Indian cooking: tadka smoke, heavy vessels and daily cleaning. We plan the layout, the wet zone, the chimney and the storage before choosing finishes, then specify durable shutters, quality hardware and a countertop suited to how you cook. See our modular kitchen service.

Wardrobes and dressing
Walk-in or full-height wardrobes, dressing niches, lit glass sections and lofts finished to match. We plan the inside around what you store first. See wardrobe design and modern wardrobe design ideas.
Living and dining
The living room carries the home’s first impression. A considered TV wall, a lit display unit, a defined dining area and lighting that changes from day to evening do more than any single statement piece.
Bedrooms
Calm, layered and private: an upholstered or panelled headboard wall, bedside lighting, blackout and sheer curtains, and storage that keeps surfaces clear.

Bathrooms
Wall-hung vanities, backlit mirrors, glass shower partitions and niches built into the wall keep a bathroom clean-lined and easy to maintain.

Home office and pooja room
A home office needs good task light, cable management and acoustic comfort. A pooja room or unit needs proportion, the right materials and lighting that respects its purpose; see our pooja room design guide.
Smart-home integration
Automated lighting scenes, motorised curtains, video door phones and networked speakers all depend on wiring and points decided at design stage. We plan these with the electrical layout, so the technology disappears into the interior instead of being added on top of it.
How we design and execute a luxury home
Every ModScale project follows the same eight stages, with one responsible team and no handoff between the people who design your home and the people who build it.
- Discussion: your floor plan, brief and budget, and an initial quotation.
- Site measurement: exact dimensions, so everything is drawn to your real walls.
- Design discussion: room by room, requirements, storage and circulation.
- 3D visualisation: materials, lighting and proportion seen before anything is cut.
- Iteration: changes made while they cost nothing.
- Production: panels cut and machined, custom pieces fabricated.
- Installation: civil, ceiling, electrical, joinery and finishes, in sequence.
- Handover: snagging closed, home cleaned and handed over.

Project management and quality control
On site, work is sequenced so that trades do not overlap badly, with quality checks at each stage rather than only at the end. Design intent is carried through execution: the approved drawing and the delivered home should be the same thing. Snagging is completed before handover, and we stay available afterwards.
Budget considerations for a luxury interior
We do not publish a single per-square-foot price for luxury interiors, because the number depends on decisions that vary widely from home to home:
- the area and scope: full home, or selected rooms
- the board, shutter and surface materials
- hardware, appliances and fittings
- custom furniture and decorative lighting
- civil, ceiling and electrical work required
- the amount of bespoke detailing
We share an initial quotation after the first discussion and refine it as the design develops. For a deeper explanation, read what actually drives interior cost.
Timelines
Luxury projects take longer than standard ones mainly because of design time and long-lead materials. Decorative lighting, specific stone slabs and imported hardware can take four to eight weeks to arrive and must be decided at design stage. The single biggest cause of delay is changing the design after it has been frozen. Read how long home interiors take.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between premium and luxury home interiors?
Both are well designed and well built. Luxury interiors typically involve more bespoke furniture, higher-grade visible finishes such as veneer, stone and PU, more detailed lighting design and more custom detailing. See our Premium Homes and Luxury Homes service levels.
Do you design luxury apartments as well as villas?
Yes. We design and execute interiors for apartments and villas across Bengaluru. See apartment interiors and villa interiors.
Do you handle the full project, or design only?
ModScale works end to end: design, production and installation by one team. Read about turnkey interiors.
Can I see materials before deciding?
Yes. You can compare materials and finishes side by side at our studio in HSR Layout, and every material is written into the specification.
How much does a luxury home interior cost in Bangalore?
It depends on area, scope, materials, hardware and custom work. We share an initial quotation after the first discussion and refine it with the design.
Can I make changes after seeing the 3D design?
Yes. The iteration stage exists for exactly that. Changes are free before the design is frozen; after production starts, they become expensive and slow.
